Established in 2006, Spirit Sister Productions truly epitomizes what it means to be an authentic South African entity. Providing a platform to train, develop and mentor women and youth within an industry that historically was dominated by men, our work ethic enables us to empower people who have been previously disadvantaged, nurturing their skills and providing effective training on all levels of new media art production. We facilitate mentorship programs and workshops in the performing arts, literary projects, business development skills, entrepreneurship and community development. Spirit Sister Productions has received numerous awards for their theatre productions and documentaries that have been broadcast both in South Africa and internationally.
Combining the talents of top class performers, Spirit Sister Productions recently returned from to the 2017 National Black Theatre Festival, Winston Salem North Carolina USA, with their music theatre production – Gogo and Big Sister, a recipient of a 2014 Standard Bank Ovation Award at the National Arts Festival, Grahamstown.
